5. The Hardy Boyz
During WrestleMania 33, The Hardy Boyz made a shocking unannounced return to the WWE after they disbanded the company as a tag team eight years ago. After The New Day jokingly hinted that they were the fourth tag team to enter in the ladder match, Matt and Jeff Hardy emerged from out the curtains and were greeted with one of the biggest pops in a WWE arena! It’s safe to say fans got very excited for their return, especially this guy… The Hardy Boyz did end up winning the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships plus we got to see Jeff Hardy deliver his Swanton Bomb from the top of the ladder into Cesaro and Sheamus. Mainly just Cesaro, he got the brunt of it.
Evolution, which consisted of Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista and The Nature Boy Ric Flair, were a villainous wrestling group which were part of the Raw brand between 2003 and 2005. The dominant team would soon rise to power assaulting the likes of Scott Steiner, Rob Van Dam, Mick Foley, Goldberg and many more! When the group disbanded in 2005, they had a brief one night reunion in 2007 on the Raw 15th Anniversary special episode. Seven years later, the group reunited again on the April 14th episode of Raw in 2014 and came out to possibly one of the deadest crowds (which was a shame considering this faction was so badass back in the day!) Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista came down to the ring to attack The Shield after their 11-on-3 handicap match, using the name and the theme of Evolution. However, Ric Flair did not participate in the reunion, as he had retired from full participation in wrestling in 2012.
3. Brothers Of Destruction
As a tag team, The Brothers of Destruction are a dominant force not to be reckoned with. Consisting of Kane and The Undertaker, the two have won the WWF Tag Team Championships twice and the WCW Tag Team Championships once. Although Kane and The Undertaker are more distinguished by their solo careers, it is always an epic chilling feeling when you see the two performing together as a team. The Brothers of Destruction have made a couple of reunions in the latter stages of their careers. One stand out moment in particular was during the 1000th episode of Raw which saw Jinder Mahal, Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks, Hunico, Camacho and Drew McIntyre plan to attack Kane which led The Undertaker to return to assist Kane in fending off the six attackers. Another great moment was when The Brothers of Destruction returned and attacked The Wyatt Family after Bray Wyatt claimed to have taken their souls.
2. D-Generation X
D-Generation X was a professional wrestling group that originated in the midst of the WWF’s “Attitude Era” from 1997 to 2000. The idea behind D-Generation X was that of a group of rebels who did and said what they wanted, no matter how provocative. The group originally consisted of the members: Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Chyna and Rick Rude before expanding the group to become a mainstay of the Attitude Era with new additions such as: X-Pac, The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn), Kane and Tori. As a group, DX disbanded in August 2000, however, returned in June 2006 as the highly charismatic and funny duo of Triple H and Shawn Michaels. I mean, who couldn’t love the two of them? Giving a sweet chin music to a 5-year-old girl and making out as if Vince McMahon loves cocks. D-Generation X reunited as a group at the 1000th episode of Raw which saw Triple H and Shawn Michaels introduce X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) down to the ring where they celebrated their reunion with DX’s signature crotch chop taunt. And if you didn’t like DX, there’s only two words for you… SUCK IT!
1. The Shield
There were many speculations as to whether The Shield was going to reunite together, especially when 2 of the 3 members were already in a tag team together. But on the October 9th episode of Monday Night Raw, this reunion actually happened! With The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro in the ring, Roman Reigns came out and interrupted The Miz’s speech. Dean Ambrose then made his way out followed by Seth Rollins. A reunited Shield then cleared the ring of Sheamus and Cesaro before delivering a triple powerbomb to The Miz. Later in the show, we also saw The Shield attack Braun Strowman and then triple powerbomb him through the announce table. This then set up the 5 on 3 handicap match between The Shield and The Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus and Braun Strowman at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs. I’m sure Vince was thinking along the lines of: “Let’s reunite The Shield so fans can finally cheer Reigns. But let’s make it a 5 on 3 handicap match so we can make The Shield look strong… OK mainly just Roman.”
