We were all a little shocked when news broke out of Neville walking out on the WWE after being frustrated over his position in the company. To be fair to the guy, he was scheduled to drop his Cruiserweight title to Enzo Amore, so I don’t blame him.
Neville single-handedly changed the landscape of 205 Live when he joined and he went from “The Man That Gravity People forgot” to “The King of the Cruiserweights”.
As a Gollum-looking heel, Neville obliterated the entire division, capturing the WWE Cruiserweight Championship twice along the way and his promo work, especially, was on fire, or how he’d put it “fi-yah”. Since walking out, Neville has been in “positive discussions” with the WWE regarding a possible return and if it does happen, it would likely be sometime in April.
And as you know, there is a pretty big event happening during that time… WrestleMania 34 perhaps? With that right around the corner, we may well see “The King” step foot in a WWE ring once again.
4. Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio surprised us all when he entered the 2018 Royal Rumble as entrant number 27, so why not surprise us again with a return at WrestleMania 34? It would be awesome to see a vintage Rey Mysterio entrance where he shoots out the ramp and imagine that at WrestleMania 34… not WrestleMania 26 where there was a “minor” malfunction.
Mysterio has been open to make a return to the WWE, however, on a part-time schedule as opposed to a full-time one. There has been a lot of speculation that Mysterio could be Braun Strowman’s mystery tag team partner but with Mysterio suffering a recent bicep injury, it is unlikely that this would be the case.
Otherwise, if he tried dialling a 619 with a torn bicep, he might dial the wrong number. While an in-ring appearance may seem out the question, it will still be nice to see The Master of the 619 make some sort of appearance at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
3. Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy sustained his first serious injury in 25 years of wrestling when he tore his rotator cuff and labrum in his shoulder in a 6-pack challenge match on Monday Night RAW. In other words, Jeff Hardy is now “Broken”.
To think that was his first major injury is quite impressive considering the crazy things he’s done throughout his career. Hardy has since undergone successful shoulder surgery and is training to make a full recovery in time for WrestleMania 34.
The Hardy Boyz received a resounding pop when they made a surprise return at WrestleMania 33, so maybe they could make another return together at the stage of the grandest, WrestleMania 34 but this time as their “Broken” characters. While this may seem unlikely with Matt entering The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale, you never know as plans could change.
It was even teased that Jeff may possibly return as his “Broken” gimmick when he made an appearance as Brother Nero during the “WONDERFUL” Ultimate Deletion match between Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt.
2. Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley has made quite the name for himself since his departure from the WWE back in early 2008. He has become a 4-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion and has gone on to have a successful career in mixed martial arts with a record of 15 wins and 2 losses.
The last time Lashley competed at WrestleMania was back in 2007, when he took part in a “Battle of the Billionaires” match at WrestleMania 23, representing the current President of the United States, Donald Trump. So, why not make WWE great again by bringing back Lashley, who has “agreed to terms with WWE” to make a return.
If Lesnar manages to retain the Universal title at WrestleMania 34, it would be amazing to see Lashley return and confront “The Beast” to set-up a feud between them. But, that’s providing Lesnar gets past Roman first.
1. Hulk Hogan
There are numerous reports circling around that Hulkamania may run wild again at The Showcase of the Immortals, WrestleMania.
The not so immortal now, Hulk Hogan was erased from the WWE website, the WWE Network, the WWE Hall of Fame and all his merchandise from the WWE Shop were removed too after a controversial sex tape was leaked in 2015 of Hogan making racial comments.
Hogan is very sorry for his racial slurs and is hoping to make a return to the WWE someday, if given the chance. He has allegedly been in talks with the WWE about a possible return and even “The King of Kings” and COO of WWE, Triple H is open to a Hulkamania return.
Will The Hulkster run wild at the Superdome? I guess only time can tell, BROTHER!
